One minute I am sashaying down The Lanes at Brighton Pride and dancing with my friends in Ibiza. The next I’m planning my Halloween makeup!
This summer has probably been one of the best, happiest and memorable of my life and although I’m a little sad it’s over, I also can’t help but get excited for the next couple of months.
I know a lot of people claim that they love Christmas - but I LOVE Christmas. The festivities, the food, the decorations, the sequins… and of course the thing I start looking forward to earlier than I should admit: The Christmas calendars. Oh, the magic of opening a little window of joy every morning of December (I may or may not sometimes open three at a time) and discovering a new treat every day. I remember a few years ago when Christmas calendars were limited to chocolate ones, and while I love me a Cadbury’s Advent Calendar, we sure have come a long way.
Here I have rounded up 15 of my favourites to make choosing yours easier.
Liberty Beauty Advent Calendar 2022

Ah Liberty! You just always deliver, don’t you? This baby is the OG of beauty calendars and without giving too much away, I will say that this has to be one of my faves ever. Selling out since 2014, this year will be no exception. It comes in a fully recyclable box, contains a whopping 30 products and - get this - five calendars contain a £1000 golden ticket to spend at Liberty. Brands include Ren, Dr. Barbara Sturm and Larry King, making this one of the most coveted calendars out there.
Liberty Men's Advent Calendar 2022
How much? £235, worth £803

Craft beer calendars are so last year. This year Liberty takes grooming to the next level, giving the discerning gentleman the chance to get his hands on the ultimate Christmas calendar. Filled with skincare and fragrance from the likes of Dr. Sebagh and Frederic Malle, I personally think this worth every penny. They’ve even included – spoiler alert – a tipple in the form of Liberty Finders Christmas Pudding Rum
Space NK Beauty Advent Calendar 2022
How much? £215, worth £770

It’s no secret that I adore Space NK. Remember when Theo and I pretended to rob one of their stores just as lockdown came to an end? Good times. This year’s calendar is filled with a selection of skincare, body, makeup and hair, brands ranging from old faithfuls to new kids on the block. Rosie Huntington-Whiteley's make-up line, Rose Inc as well as La Mer and Sisley are some of the many impressive offerings. The content is worth more than three times the price, so you’ll definitely get bang for your buck. I also think the red and pink design is colour blocking at its finest!

This year’s Cult calendar is an absolute delight. From icons such Drunk Elephant and Jo Loves to 111SKIN and Charlotte Tilbury, there’s a treat for even the fussiest beauty lover. Day 25’s door is a particular good ‘un with not one but SIX goodies. Also hidden in three calendars is also a golden ticket for a £1,000 Cult Beauty voucher, which could really make someone’s Christmas an epic one. Cult is also giving back by donating over £75,000 from the sales of their calendar to Mental Health UK, as well as planting one tree for every calendar sold, so they’re definitely on the nice list this year.
She’s back in all her cream and black glory. Yes, it’s the undeniably chic Jo Malone London Advent Calendar. Get ready for (yet another) sellout because this year’s two-tiered creation is EVERYTHING. Daily surprises include candles, body care and of course, delicious fragrances. My standouts are the Pine & Eucalyptus Travel Candle and Fig & Lotus Flower Cologne. And Dark Amber & Ginger Lily Cologne just because it sounds so dramatic. Kinda like me.
NET-A-PORTER Beauty Advent Calendar 2022

The best seller is back for the fifth year in a row and believe me when I say I was not disappointed. A selection of skincare, hair, body and make-up treats worth over £1,000! There are some seriously glam brands, including Balmain Hair, Claus Porto and Costa Brazil. 12 out of the 25 products are full size, meaning you’ll actually get good use out of them. And not to spoil the surprise but my favourite post-party (hello silly season) mask by MZ Skin may or may not be hiding in one of the little black drawers.

This gorgeous Christmas tree-shaped calendar is filled with candles, body care and fragrances – both old and new. If fragrance is your thing, this is the calendar for you. Think fig tree, pomelo, red truffle and Seville orange. A total feast for the senses. An added extra is a pack limited-edition set of playing cards – which I will obviously be using to beat everyone at poker this Christmas. Just kidding, I have no idea to play poker.
Elemis Skin Wellness Advent Calendar

Number of products? 25, including a full size Pro-Collagen Marine Cream
If you’re serious about skincare, this one’s for you. Focusing on wellness, this year Elemis will get your skin glowing. And let’s face it, who couldn’t use a bit of extra TLC during the winter months? They’ve crammed their award-winning skin and bodycare products – hi, Superfood Facial Oil and Dynamic Resurfacing Facial Wash – into a fully recyclable presentation box and added a little loop to each box, so you can hang all the gifts on your tree. Clever, huh?
Lookfantastic 2022 Advent Calendar

This is seriously good value. Let’s be honest, things get spenny around Christmas. We go out more, spend money on a party frock (yes, I said “frock”… it’s making a comeback didn’t you know) or six and – if you’re anything like me – go a little crazy on buying gifts for my friends. So LF’s calendar of £95 comes as a welcome treat. The fact that they’ve crammed £500 worth of goodies in is just fabulous. There are 26 beauty must-haves, including an Iconic Triple Threat Mascara, Rituals Ayurveda Mini Diffuser, ESPA Optimal Skin Pro Moisturiser… the list goes on but I won’t. I wouldn’t want to spoil the surprise.
Another well-priced beauty calendar, this limited edition is selling out fast. And although Anthropologie is usually one of my go-to’s for homewares (have you seen my Christmas dining table of joy?!), their 2022 beauty calendar is up there with some of the best. Hiding behind each door is a little burst of beauty. Think Skyn Iceland Brightening Eye Serum, Mario Badescu Hyaluronic Dew Cream and the most festive Manicurist Poppy Red Nail Varnish. A one-of-a-kind, glamorous beauty calendar that doesn’t break the bank…who knew?
Charlotte Tilbury Charlotte's Diamond Chest of Beauty
How much? £150, worth £245
Number of products? 12, including 5 full size
Featuring 12 makeup and skincare icons, Charlotte Tilbury’s jewel-embellished calendar is probably one of your best bets. Sure, there are other calendars with over 25 products but she has certainly focused on quality. There are award winning products such as her Magic Cream and Pillow Talk Push Up! Lashes Mascara…plus a few gems I’ll leave as a surprise. An added extra is you can keep it as an all-year-round storage box. You are welcome.
Selfridges Beauty Advent Calendar 2022
How much? £210, worth £800
Number of products? 25, including 12 full size
All hail Selfridges. One of the greatest department stores in the world. And much like the inside of the store itself, this year’s fully recyclable beauty calendar is packed with luxury products - worth a whopping £800. High-end brands include Kate Somerville and Le Labo and the products range from lipsticks and eyeshadows to eye-creams and vitamins, making this an epic all-rounder. Be on the lookout for Kylie’s liquid matte lipstick. It’s amazing, Bible ;)
John Lewis Beauty Advent Calendar
How much? £179, worth £770

Who does Christmas better than John Lewis? Not only are they behind all the greatest Christmas TV ads of all time, their creative genius extends to all things festive, including this year’s Beauty Advent Calendar. Another all-rounder this beauty box of joy includes £770 worth of skincare, makeup, haircare and fragrant goodies. The brands are impressive: Neom, Bobbi Brown, Clarins, MAC, Elemis… to name but a few. And with the chance of winning a £500 John Lewis gift voucher, I think they’ve sleighed it.
Harrods Beauty Advent Calendar 2022
How much? £250, worth £1136 (you read that right)

Another major player in the world of department stores, Harrods does not play when it comes to Christmas. Beautifully presented in its iconic green and gold box, this year’s calendar is jam packed with skincare, makeup and haircare. The brands are super luxe, as you’d expect: there’s Laura Mercier, Dr Dennis Gross, Sunday Riley, Huda Beauty… I won’t ruin the surprise but let’s just say it’s mega. And speaking of size, an incredible 22 out of 25 products are FULL SIZE. Take my money.
ASOS Face + Body 25 Day Advent Calendar

I sometimes wonder how much money I have spent at ASOS in my life. Just for a brief moment because yikes. That ‘New in’ section gets me every time! This year everyone’s favourite high street retailer is back with a beauty bang in the form of their awesomely priced advent calendar. Boasting a total of 29 products – you get FIVE treats on day 25 – the total value comes to over £300. Pretty good if you ask me. The contents are pretty fab too. Think skincare, haircare and body care from the likes of Olaplex, Elf, Charlotte Tilbury and Elemis. It sells out every. single. year… so be quick.
