The products I take on the plane

Holiday often, that’s most certainly my motto! And the fun starts at the airport. I mean a glass of champs is a must, even at 6am when you’re on holiday time, right?! But I’m here to talk about the plane pamper sesh. That’s right, I have a full routine for up in the air. (I repeat this twice if the flight is over 7 hours). Now this is different to my everyday skincare routine which you can find here. This is all about hydration as the recycled air in the cabin is incredibly drying. I want to get off that jet looking and feeling fresh and this is how I do it.

And FYI, you can use my 20% off Cult Beauty code on all of these babies.

The code is LISACB

It can be used on nearly everything at Cult. Exclusions do apply.

In-flight

Elemis Pro Collagen Cleanser

The first thing I do once I’ve settled into my seat is to cleanse. If you’re flying long haul, you’ll sometimes be given a hot flannel, but I always take my own just incase. You can’t go wrong with this cleanser. Firstly the smell is so relaxing which is great for someone like me as I’m not a huge fan of flying. It also removes all impurities and leaves your skin super soft. The other great thing is that this product comes in a travel size to save you space.

Hydration is key inflight and a face mist is one of my favourite beauty products onboard whilst so quick to use. This icon from Caudalie is perfect as the mist is really fine and the smell is invigorating as well as, of course, being super hydrating. I tend to spritz this every hour. If the plane is a bit stuffy, try spritzing this on the back of your neck and on your wrists to cool you down.

This lovely oil undergoes complex extraction, which preserves its superior quality and allows it to deliver maximum benefits. In flight I slather this on and then use a face tool to massage the face. The deets of that are below

I love this tool. It’s so easy to use and helps to contour, de-puff and plump. It’s also fab for resetting fatigued skin. Face gym have loads of tutorials on their website. But my fave tutorials are from the mega Michaella Bolder. One of my all time favourite facialists. She tends to use her hands in her guides but you can combine the two. I also like to use this tool on my shoulders when inflight to relieve tension.

This face mask is brilliant as you don’t need to rinse it off, making it ideal pre-inflight nap. The formula helps nourish, calm and hydrate the skin leaving it feeling smooth and soft.

I love a sheet mask mid flight, although you may scare a fellow traveller or two! This mask has magic in the name for a reason. It’s like no other as it is a dry mask that infuses dulled, depleted skin with its revitalising cocktail hydrating for up to eight hours.

What a treat these are. I mean who doesn’t want cosy little hands on a flight that then feel soft and smooth 20 minutes later? Holidays are all about relaxing, so why not start onboard?

You know I’m all about these balms and it’s one of the things I repeatedly reapply during a flight as my lips get so dry. And I love A Watermelon Daquri so this just gets me in the mood before I can get my hands on one poolside.

One hour before landing

Now your skin is glowing and hydrated, it’s time to get ready to land. Now you may prefer to just leave your skin naked. But I like to add a touch of makeup. But before any of that, and even if you’re leaving your skin bare, apply SPF. You’re (hopefully) about to land somewhere sunny and even if you’re not, we all know that SPF is to be used all year round.

La Roche-Posay Anthelios SPF50

This is a fabulous SPF. It glides on, sinks in and does what it says on the tin.

If you’re like me and know you’re going to be jumping straight in the pool or the sea, then this is perfect as it is VERY water-resistant.

So you can’t take this on board as its over 100ml, but I always have it at the top of my case ready to get out. Not only is it really quick to apply, but it smells like holiday and who doesn’t want that?!

This is a brilliant base to put in this situation as it evens out your skin and gives a glow without looking or feeling heavy. Im either shade light-medium or medium neutral once I have a bit of colour.

In this cute kit you’ve got your bronze, blush, lip and eye colour. And they are sooo easy to apply. Just chuck them on and blend with your fingers for a look that makes you look instantly radiant.

One of my fave mascaras in a cure mini. Kush gives volumised, buildable lashes thanks to its unique heart-shaped fibres that thicken the lashes.

This is a great holiday kit. But for the plane, I take out the PHD Dry shampoo and leave the rest in my suitcase. This is just a brilliant dry shampoo which actually cleans your hair, takes away excess oil, adds texture and smells gorgeous. Ideal.

This roll on smells sooooo good. It’s the perfect product to freshen you up. They also do brilliant roll on fragrances that last on the skin for hours. I LOVE Leather.

So that’s it, my in-flight routine. And I can not wait to be doing all these steps in a few days time en route to Thailand-whoop!!! (And yes, I’ll be doing a whole Thailand guide blog post on my return).

Happy Holidays,

Lisa xx
