What’s in my handbag?

What’s in my handbag?

Fun fact: I hardly ever used to carry a handbag. I used to chuck stuff in my pockets, Theo’s pockets or the pockets of pretty much anyone who was with me at the time.

I always say there are two types of people: handbag people and shoe people. I have always been the latter. Heels, trainers, boots… come at me!

A few years ago I invested in a Yves Saint Laurent Envelope bag in the most beautiful, buttery leather. I’d like to think she (gorgeous bags are female, don’t you think?) converted me. Don’t get me wrong, I will always be a shoe-girl – when Carrie almost left her blue Manolos in their apartment when she left Big, I FELT that in my soul – but I can now appreciate a good bag. I also may or may not have started to grow my collection, my most recent purchase a to-die-for vintage Fendi. The thing with bags is that they are so useful – who knew?! And now that my belongings aren’t divided between the pockets of different people, I can share with you what I keep in my handbag.

The best lip gloss in the land in my opinion. Super shiny and non-sticky; it’s just juicy perfection. I always think you need a gloss on hand at all times. Top tip-this baby also looks amazing on the eyes. Chuck on a smokey eye and pat this over the top for a super cool look.

486 Hair Clips

Like, where do they come from and why can I never find them when I need them?! I can’t be the only one, surely? They must disappear to the same place where all my odd socks are.

Lisa Eldridge True Velvet Morning Lipstick

WHOAH this is just the ultimate red lippy, the perfect blend of orangey-red that suits anyone and everyone. The velvet matte finish glides on perfectly and super smoothly. Everyone should have a red lipstick in their handbag. It’s great for a last-minute drink after work, or just for a general pick me up. Top tip – it also works wonderfully on the cheeks as a speedy blush.

Apple AirPods

I’m an Apple fan girl, through and through. They can’t do anything wrong in my eyes. And the AirPods are the best – noise-cancelling and these suckers actually stay in place, unlike some of the other brands out there that fall out when you just about tilt your head.  I can’t go an hour without listening to music, so these are an essential.

Baccarat Rouge Eau De Parfum Travel Spray

My all-time fave go-to fragrance. It’s a total showstopper. I get stopped in the street on a daily basis to ask what I’m wearing. I’m not kidding! The travel size is also great for a bag.

Chanel Baume Essentiel Multi-Use Glow Stick in Sculpting

Is this the best bit of makeup Chanel has every made? It certainly is in my eyes. It adds the most luscious, dewy glow to your skin. Pat it on the cheekbones, the eyes and the lips for a dreamy, ethereal look. And if you’ve got your legs out, get it down them as well!

Bodyography Glitter Pigment

I mean come on, would it even be an LPD bag if it didn’t have glitter in it?! I think not. Adds a quick lil’ sparkle even when I’m on the move.

A Pen

Just kidding, I don’t but I bloody wish I did! Because I ALWAYS need one! I’m that person who, when in a pub or restaurant, will ask the waiter for a paper napkin and pen.

Gold Hooped Earrings

Again, an absolute essential if you ask me. You never know when you’ll need to add a touch of attitude to your look, amirite?

3 Pairs of House Keys

And I wonder why Theo is always searching for a set… whoops.

A Battery Pack for my Phone

Although I’m tempted to take this out as I’m still traumatized from my EasyJet experience. If you don’t know what I’m talking about, have a look HERE

This is just one of many bags. Who knows what’s in the others…

The one and only Sarah Jessica Parker famously once said: “I'm thinking balls are to men, what purses are to women. It's just a little bag but we'd feel naked in public without it.”

To be honest, I couldn’t agree more; I’d also feel a lil naked without my Mary Poppins Magic Carpetbag of joy.
