Christmas Cocktails
Sip Back and Relax. If you know me, you know I am partial to a good cocktail. I mean, what’s not to love when there’s one for every occasion?
Beach holiday? Strawberry Mojito!
Fancy date? Tommy’s Margarita!
Girls’ night out? Amaretto Sour!
Christmas morning? Classic Bellini!
And if you follow me on social media, you will also know that I have recently partnered up with – or ganged up with, depending on who you ask – my fabulous foodie friend Dom, to bring you a cooking show with a twist, Mouthfull. We quite literally create culinary chaos in the kitchen, leaving a trail of glitter (and dirty dishes) in our wake.
We have only done a few episodes so far, but let me tell you, it’s a lol a minute. We have featured some epic recipes and I’ve had some amazing feedback from people who’ve been loving trying them out. Naturally, we start each episode with a cocktail concoction. Surely having a drink in hand whilst cooking makes for a better meal. I think it’s proven science in some cultures. I may or may not have made that up.
So with today being Christmas eve and the big day of magic tomorrow (and on Monday because I love me a Boxing Day!) I decided to share some of my favourite cocktail recipes. Whether you’re new to the cocktail cosmos or a complete connoisseur, these will guarantee your rightful claim to The King or Queen of cocktails.
So let’s stir up a shot of percentage-induced fun with some festive cocktail making. All that is left to say is Merry Christmas!
If you love a Margs this is delicious. It’s also perfect to pre make and to chuck in a jug ready for when your guests arrive. It’s also mega frozen! To do this, literally chuck the ingredients in a blender with some ice. Mr. Frosty who?
Ingredients
50ml Tequila Blanco (This is the clear version, don’t use the yellow one)
25ml Triple Sec
50ml Fresh Lime juice
A squeeze of agave
50ml of Clementine juice. This doesn’t have to be fresh. The M&S one is my fave
For the rim
Sugar
Salt. Equal parts to the sugar
Grated clementine zest
Method
Run a segment of lime around the rim of each glass.
Dip your glass into the rim mix and shimmy the glass until it is fully lined.
Chuck all of your ingredients into a jug. Remember to make enough for the amount of guests you have attending.
Stir
Add ice and serve.
Sooo this is basically an Italian desert, but I love it at, well, any point! It is delicious and will seriously impress your guests. Make sure you only make this one a few minutes before your guests arrive.
Ingredients
Serves 6
1 x 462ml tub of lemon sorbet (We recommend Remeo)
100ml vodka
1 x bottle Prosecco
1 x Lemon
Method
Place the sorbet and vodka in bowl and whisk until soft.
Spoon into coupe glasses until it is 1/3 full.
Top with prosecco.
Grate Lemon zest on top and enjoy immediately.
This is the most indulgent, delicious cocktail ever! Perfect for pud. Again, this would work wonderfully frozen, but I adore it over ice as below.
Ingredients. Makes 4
100ml Vodka
100ml Baileys
100ml Kahlua
100ml Double Cream
Chocolate flake x 1
Ice
Method
Place all the ingredients, along with plenty of ice, into a cocktail shaker and shake well to combine.
Pour into martini glasses and crumble a little chocolate flake over the top. Scruptious.
And there you have 3 delicious cocktails that all your guests will devour.
Have a wonderful festive time,
Lisa xx
