The Best YouTube Halloween Makeup Tutorials
I love Halloween. What other night of the year can you hop on the tube, dressed as Cher, bump into three cats, someone dressed as MJ, a pirate and a priest?! Well, to be honest, that’s just the beginning of an average Friday night in Brixton. By the time October rolls around, I’ve usually planned at least five different (very elaborate) Halloween costumes. However, a week before, when that last-minute Halloween party invite arrives, I ask myself: “What on earth should I dress as?!”. Enter, my archive of the best YouTube Halloween makeup tutorials.
Whether you want to be a low-maintenance cute cat or a scary skull – I’ve got you covered. The beauty of step-by-step tutorials is that you don’t need 10+ years of makeup artistry experience to look amazing. So, grab yourself a pumpkin spice latte (or a Dark & Stormy… if you’re doing this 15-minutes before you need the house!) and get your glitter and makeup brushes ready…
Only the OGs will remember my #HalloweenWeek series. As if this was seven years ago now?! I remember how much you everyone loved this good witch/bad witch tutorial. This is surprisingly simple but effective. Also so perfect with the new Wicked film coming out... everyone has a bit of Elphaba and Glinda in them!
Another one of my old favourites. This is look is a fun take on the popular Barbie costume. Sadly, poor Barbs has gone a bit over-the-top with her surgery addiction. This one requires some prosthetic lips from your local party shop. Also a perfect time to use some old lashes… as these don’t actually need to stick perfectly to the lash line!
Coming in hot (or you know, half-dead) with this amazing Beetlejuice look from Sophie Hannah. As a 90s girl, I have always loved this Halloween classic and have absolutely been loving seeing it rise to popularity with the release of the new film. The amazing thing about a Beetlejuice costume is that it doesn’t need to be perfect – in fact, the rougher round the edges, the more authentic!
Another one of my classic favourites. The Ice Queen by Anna Lingus. This five-minute tutorial looks so professional but trust me, some glitter, eyeshadow and white face-paint and you too can be the ultimate Ice Queen this Halloween. Love the idea of using this to do a spooky Elsa outfit.
The thing I love about these tutorials is that they will never fail to impress. Every year, I love seeing that you still recreate looks I filmed years ago! So, as always, please tag me in your photos! Whether you’re having a cosy night in, carving pumpkins and answering the door to Trick-or-Treaters or headed on a big night out with your friends, I hope you have a spooky Halloween filled with fun!
Love,
Lisa xx
