Setting Intentions For 2025

Happy New Year you lovely lot! Let’s talk about New Year’s resolutions. Now, I’ll be honest– I’m not usually one for making them. My philosophy has always been: if you want to do something, don’t wait for January 1st to roll around—just go for it! Life’s too short, right?! BUT there’s something undeniably great about the energy of the New Year. It’s like the world collectively hits the reset button, and everyone is buzzing with ideas, plans, and possibility. So, this year, I’m leaning into that excitement and asking myself one simple question: What do I want to do that I haven’t yet?

Whether it’s learning a new skill, traveling somewhere new, or simply spending more quality time with loved ones, setting intentions can be an amazing way to channel that fresh-start energy. And I’m here to share a few tips on how to make it happen—and stick with it!

Write. It. Down!

There’s something so powerful about putting pen to paper. Write down your goals—big or small—and keep them somewhere you can see them. A chic wall calendar or a beautifully designed notebook can make this process feel even more special. Plus, it’s an excuse to treat yourself to some new stationery (who doesn’t love that and hello, January sales?!).

Papier | Colourblock Hardback 2025 Daily Diary

This is me if I was a planner. Pink and orange never fail to make me think of Ibiza! Papier do some of the best planners in the business. High quality paper and monthly spreads so you can customise to suit you!

I’m all about art in my home so I need a calendar that is going to add to the vibe rather than making it stale. I absolutely love this one because who doesn’t love cheese?! I’m hanging this in our utility room as it’s the place I’m often in to grab a coat, dog lead, etc. on the way out of the house.

Ok, it’s a bit on the pricier side but buying a Moleskine will absolutely make you want to write in it (don’t you dare “save” it!). These diaries are made to be loved and cherished. Throw it in your bag, decorate it, love it – channel your inner Jane Birkin.

Break it into Smaller Chunks!

Ok so we have the tools but what now? Sometimes, big goals can feel overwhelming. Want to run a marathon? Start with 5K. Planning to declutter your home? Focus on one drawer or cupboard at a time. Breaking things down makes it manageable and keeps you motivated as you tick off the smaller steps.

Don’t go it alone!

Everything is more fun with friends, right? Share your goals with your besties or set some shared intentions together. Whether it’s committing to a monthly catch-up, joining a fitness class, or holding each other accountable for a new habit, having that support makes a world of difference. Bonus: you’ll make even more amazing memories together!

Focus on the JOY!

It’s easy to get caught up in resolutions that feel like a chore (hello, cutting out chocolate… just why would you?!). Instead, think about things that genuinely light you up. Want to travel more? Start a savings jar. Love dancing? Find a local class. When you set goals that make you happy, sticking to them feels natural.

Reflect, Don’t Perfecttttt

Life happens. Some days you’ll smash your goals, and other days you’ll just need a good nap—and that’s okay. Check in with yourself regularly, celebrate your wins (no matter how small), and remember that progress, not perfection, is what counts.

Useful Links to Get Started:

·      MasterClass: Learn something new, from cooking with Gordon Ramsay to photography with Annie Leibovitz.

·      Headspace: For mindfulness and meditation to help you focus on your goals.

·      StoryGraph: I’ve always been a GoodReads girl to track my books but last year I got really into StoryGraph. I absolutely love that it gives you a breakdown of stats so you can see what type of books you like to read, and recommendations based on those. Stay tuned for some of my favourite books to read in 2025 coming soon!

·      DuoLingo: I’ve been using DuoLingo for years! Honestly it’s help me keep some of my Spanish that my best friend Tana taught me 20 years ago. Premium is so worth it in my opinion!

My Resolution:

Ok, so my resolution is to wear every single item of clothing in my wardrobe! I’m going to work out some kind of system to make this possible to fall in love with all of the clothes that have been long forgotten about.

Aaaaand, I want to bring my 5 Faves back to Instagram! I feel like it’s time?! Don’t worry I’ll still post it monthly on here too.

So, tell me: What do you want to do that you haven’t yet? Put your intentions in the comments or share them with a friend. Let’s make 2025 the year we go for it. Cheers to the year ahead!

Love,

Lisa xx

P.S. Remember, resolutions aren’t about pressure—they’re about possibilities. If there’s something you’ve been dreaming about, now’s the perfect time to give it a go. And if not? That’s perfectly fine too. You’re fab just as you are!
