My 5 Faves of the Month-January
Welcome to my faves of January, where I obsess over all things fabulous. Each month I share the products which have left me oohing and aahing over the past four weeks, from beautiful beauty buys and fab fashion finds to the most covetable homewares I’ve discovered. So hold on to your wallets and get ready to dive into my list of lust-haves!
I mean it was always going to be good. This powder highlighter glides on and leaves you glowing like one of Charlotte’s Starlets you see on her TV ads. It’s an almost creamy texture as it blends in beautiful. Cheekbones that can be seen from outer space.
I mean it’s a quad of my favourite glittery Bobbi Brown eyeshadows… what’s not to love? The great thing about this formulation is that its buildable; you can glide on a wash of colour, by itself or over a shadow. Alternatively, you can really build up the colour. The shades suit everyone and anyone. It really is the perfect grown-up glitter.
Where has this been all my life? A non-greasy, oil serum that acts as a heat protector whilst also leaving your hair super shiny – even mine! Miracles do happen.
These lipsticks are just great. They last on the lip without drying and they come in an array of shades. The nudes are rich and enhance your natural lip colour. They are such an easy wear. On top of that they are refillable.
I’d forgotten how much I loved this mascara until I used it in my No Makeup Makeup tutorial for my new “Learn with Lisa” series on YouTube. It’s the perfect natural mascara: almost like a lash tint. It just gives your lashes a little something-something. Perfect for a lazy day, or for anyone who lives by the saying ‘less is more’.
Black Silk Shirt
I borrowed my Auntie Deb’s over Christmas and realised it’s an absolute staple that I don’t own. So off I went trawling the sales. I knew I wanted a slightly oversized but smart shirt. Shiny but not too shiny. Perfect to chuck on with jeans and look and feel chic. Annoyingly the one I bought from COS is now sold out – I’m not surprised as it is perfection… sorry to rub it in – but I’ve found some great alternatives.
This smooth shirt, with its soft drape, is a closet staple and is designed to have a comfy, relaxed fit.
COS has always been a firm favourite. They are known for their minimalistic design aesthetic, and this shirt is no exception.
This is a beautiful shirt made of smooth satin weave of mulberry silk and feels super luxurious.
A gorgeous, fitted shirt in woven fabric with a pointed collar and buttons down the front. Gently dropped shoulders, long sleeves with buttoned cuffs, and a gently rounded hem. An absolute bargain as well!
I’ve loved this Spanish brand for forever. The quality is just fab and this shirt is a testament to that. It’s on sale too so get it while it’s hot.
I’ve never been a Converse girl, not sure why, but turns out I am now. I bought these to wear with my sequin dress for our 10-year wedding anniversary party and have lived in them ever since. They really do go with anything and they are super comfy. I recently added to my collection with a pair of purple ones with camouflage laces and my initials on the back. As you do :) These are really fun and I love the fact that you can customise a them.
Oh boy, this is a great collab if - like me - you like a good quality, oversized hoodie and a baggy pair of trousers. I actually didn’t know much about the brand; it was Theo who said “Oh I didn’t realise you had jeans from them, I love that brand” to which I responded “Zara?!”. To then realise my new fave jeans were part of the collab. I obviously then checked out the rest of the collection and ended up buying a few more bits. The quality and the shape are fantastic and much cheaper than the brand itself. I really hope they do more collaborations together.
I’m including these babies because you guys always ask me about them and they are just great. Lightweight and mega comfy - as well as good looking - they are fab if you love walking like me. These are most definitely going to be my Glastonbury walking boots where they’ll really be put to the test.
Ok, so I know this I expensive for an eye mask BUT I have been testing this baby for well over a year. I have every type of eye mask; the silk ones, the Velcro ones, the ones that protect your false lashes, the ones with googly eyes on, the bright pink ones and even the unicorn patterned ones. This one is, without doubt, the best. It stays put all night (although I suppose this depends on how much you wriggle), and there are no gaps so no light seeps in. Now I have no Idea is the advertised anti-wrinkle element actually works, but if it’s an added bonus to a great eye mask, then fab!
I saw this beautiful vase in my friend Billie’s house and immediately commented on how gorgeous it was. Such a lovely design. She had filled it with eucalyptus, which is perfect in any vase, but especially this one. This would look wonderful in the centre of the table in any home.
Oh my, these are the softest, most gorgeous towels. I have the bright pink (of course I have) and they are just lovely. They come in multiple sizes, and they wash brilliantly. They are also sustainable and plastic-free which is always a wonderful added benefit. A small business with big prospects… I mean they’ve just launched in Harrods! Get them while you can.
This literally made me laugh out loud. I love Babek’s art stories. Simple yet memorable. I 100% need this for my hallway. It would, without doubt, make anyone who read it smile. It would also work brilliantly in a downstairs loo.
I love a real plant but it’s also great to mix them with faux ones. Or if you’re a renowned plant killer, just get faux ones - especially when they are as good as the Abigail Ahearn ones. I have a few of these on the top of my fridge (a great place for plants may I add) and no-one would ever know. Sometimes even I forget and water them!
Talking of plants, I’m all about a bright plant pot. Even if you like a white room, you can brighten it up with a plant pot or three. Oliver Bonas have a great selection at reasonable prices. Win win!
And there you go, January’s faves. Look at it as your Winter Blues Survival Guide… it is just the cure for those wintertime woes, so happy shopping!
As always, I only ever recommend products I would use myself. This most may contain affiliate links that at no additional cost to you, I may earn a small commission. This is mostly spent on repairing the shoes Diddy keeps chewing.
Love,
Lisa xx
